First Street Green, in cooperation with NYC Dept. of Parks and Recreation, calls for ideas and volunteer support for an initiative to paint murals on the plywood walls installed in First Park, along the north side of Houston Street near Second Avenue.
Each selected artist will be assigned a site within a designated sub-section of the panels. These panels will be repainted on a rotating basis, with an average duration of 2 to 3 months. Proposals can involve single sections or multiple section designs.
The artists chosen will execute their designs in mid-September. Artists will be responsible for the cost of all art materials and clean-up, and the completion of their design.
Deadline for Submissions has been extended to September 13, 2013
Please submit a proposal image for one or more of the wall sections.

I noticed that there are a lot of plants along the bottom of the walls, which covers up part of the artwork area. Are these going to remain there? Thanks.
yes.
